Accessible Tours
We purposely limit the size of our trips to guarantee a high standard of customer care. We ensure that our customer service is delivered at a personal level aboard ‘Polperro’ by aiming for a staff to passenger ratio of 1:6, and up to 1:1 during in-water activities.
We endeavour to understand the needs of participants and to cater for these in our Activity Planning.
We are particularly mindful of catering to culturally and linguistically diverse visitors as well as people with varying physical abilities.
We invite teachers, tour guides, drivers and carers onboard at no charge.
Demonstrations constitute a large component of briefings, particularly in relation to key safety messages. Supervisors always check afterwards that each participant has a clear understanding of the information imparted. Those that require modified messaging are provided with the information in an accessible fashion.
Our tours depart from Sorrento pier. The location is a short walk from both ticketed and free parking options. The pier itself is constructed from wooden planks at the end where the boat is berthed. These planks do provide an uneven surface and there are gaps between the planks. This can pose a challenge for those with restricted mobility.
